Come To PT Without Having To See Your Doctor First

Do you dread having to go to the doctor? Waiting to get an appointment and then once you do, you wait forever in the office…

Don’t worry, we feel the same way when we have to make doctor appointments.

We understand that your lives are busy and one of the common things we hear from patients is that they want to come to physical therapy, but they just don’t have the time.

Did you know there is a way you can skip the doctor and get started right away with physical therapy!

What is Direct Access?

If you have a commercial insurance (like BCBS, Aetna, or HAP), we can treat you for 10 visits or 21 days without having to wait to get in for a visit with your doctor!

Direct Access to physical therapy allows patients to refer themselves to physical therapy and skip going to the doctor which can help save money by cutting out provider visits, unnecessary tests, and referrals to other specialists.

This also allows you to start treatment right away with little risk of further injuring yourself.

Who can take advantage of Direct Access?

Anyone who has commercial insurance can self-refer to physical therapy.

And because you have commercial insurance…

You can schedule your physical therapy visits whenever it works best with your schedule!

This way you can schedule around work, kids’ activities, family life, or whatever you have on your plate!

Don’t let time be the barrier that keeps you from taking care of your aches and pains.

What if I have Medicare?

If you have Medicare, you will still need to get a doctor’s referral before starting treatment but that doesn’t necessarily mean that you will have to wait for an appointment with your doctor.

Here at Functional Advantage, we offer a free 20 minute consultation called a discovery visit. During this visit you will sit down with a physical therapist and talk about the problem you have been dealing with.

If you both agree that physical therapy is something you could benefit from, we can send a prescription request to your doctor. Your doctor will either sign the request and you can start right away, or they may request to see you first.

To request a free discovery visit, click here to fill out a short form and we will contact you!

There are a lot of options when it comes to starting therapy and we know that insurance can be confusing,

Give us a call today 989-573-8588 to learn more about direct access and tell us how we can make the physical therapy process easier for you!

We know that people tend to wait until their pain is unbearable to seek help (we are guilty of this at times also), but the sooner you get help the easier it will be to fix your aches and pains!
