Use Your Insurance Benefits Before the Year Ends: Why Now is the Perfect Time for Physical Therapy

As we approach the end of the year, many people don’t realize they could be leaving valuable health benefits unused. If you’ve been putting off physical therapy, now may be the best time to schedule an appointment—and your insurance could help cover it!

Why You Should Act Now

Most insurance plans reset on January 1st. That means:

  • Deductibles reset – If you’ve already met your deductible for the year, your out-of-pocket costs for physical therapy may be significantly lower right now. After January 1st you will be paying more than if you were to start physical therapy right now.
  • FSA & HSA funds expire – Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) often don’t carry over into the next year, so any unused dollars that you have put into this account could be lost and wasted.
  • Maximize your benefits – If you’ve been delaying treatment for pain, injury recovery, or mobility issues, using your benefits now ensures you don’t miss out on the coverage you’ve already paid for.

How Physical Therapy Can Help

Physical therapy isn’t just for recovery after surgery—it can help with:

  • Chronic pain management
  • Injury prevention and rehab
  • Improving strength, balance, and mobility
  • Supporting an active, healthy lifestyle

Starting care now means you can go into the new year feeling stronger and healthier!

Don’t Wait Until It’s Too Late

The end of the year is one of the busiest times for physical therapy clinics, including here at Functional Advantage, as many patients rush to use their benefits before they expire. When you throw in holidays and time off it makes it hard to guarantee you get the times you need and the frequency that is most beneficial with seeing results. Scheduling now gives you the better chance of getting appointment times that work best for you.

Take the Next Step

If you’ve been dealing with pain, recovering from an injury, or just want to move better, now is the time to act. Don’t let your 2025 benefits go unused—schedule your physical therapy appointments before the year ends and start the new year feeling great!
